I finished the book with a sense of wanting to know more, and I probably never will. I'm off to read Dragon Fall now. I was pleased when I encountered Mothering Against the Odds as I was selecting course books for my undergraduate class. In some ítems the informatio isn't enoght.. He was born in Canada and then lived in the United States, so going to Africa would certainly be a tremendous change in life and experiences.
I enjoyed reading how John came to know Jesus as the true healer, which came after John suffered multiple deaths in his own family. This particular book is what I would personally call "the tool" to achieve my plan. Each chapter is dense with research, yet wonderfully readable, and full of fascinating nuggets of information: you will never look at a flea or a beetle in the same way again. The characters draw you in, the world building is rich and detailed (culture, religion, cities, family, friends) and you are going to miss it all when you're finished readi
