Author Mirco De Cet notes the most famous designers, machines, racers and companies. The book includes 750 color photographs, many of which have never been seen before since many of the machines featured have been discontinued and now exist solely in private collections or museums around the world. With the aid of the companies and private individuals, Mirco De Cet has unearthed as many classic machines as he could and brushed off the dust to reveal them to you in their full glory.
Mirco De Cet was born in a small village in the beautiful Dolomite Mountains, north of Venice and a step away from the stunning Tyrol area of northern Italy. Born directly after the Second World War, he spent the first years of his life in a country decimated by war. Raised and educated in England, Mirco De Cet developed a passion for motorcycles. Through an apprenticeship in motor mechanics, he learned about cars and bikes, eventually owning several machines himself, and investing in several Italian machines upon his return to Italy. In the early 1980s, he took a position in a London publishing house, writing for a motorcycle and car magazine as well as testing and riding a variety of machines. He has written, edited and taken photographs for many motorcycle books. Mirco De Cet owns a very functional, no frills Yamaha 900 Diversion, which, he says modestly, serves him well. When he is not busy researching, writing and editing, he lovingly restores his small collection of small capaci

In the process, she has also uncovered many of the samplermakers' schools and teachers. It didn't devote an undue amount of pages or time to Harley-D or Honda and I appreciated that. I knew the author personally, so enjoyed reading about her life.
She is an amazing woman and glad to read of different times
of her journey to where she is today.. One of the newest and enjoyable reference books in my motorcycle library is "The Complete Encyclopedia of Classic Motorcycles". This is a fascinating read. Their very existence is evidence of early schooling for women in this country.
