Did not learn anything new by this book. But the rate is more simple than good book, like "Shigley".. He makes a compelling case that this was an era clearly set off from its surround, in which Hollywood's major successful products had characteristic intellectual concerns, visual and narrative innovations, that were tightly linked to the social and political developments of that period. I had to read this book for a class I took. I am using this as a resource for my classroom as we study this region as part of an expeditionary project. For those reading of the Caribbean for the first time, it gives a real flavor and feeling for the West Indies. The first thing to know about this book is that it is the sequel to, or rather: the other half of, Lord of the White Hell Book One. What a perfect Earth Day read for students. When not in comparison to the show the art is definitely good, it's just liberties that were taken that I am not too fond of.
