Clinton Elliott was born in New York City, attended Westminster School in Simsbury, Conn, and studied music at Yale University. He served in the U.S. Navy on a submarine chaser in the Pacific at the close of World War II. He graduated from Yale in 1949 and continued his studies in music composition in France with Nadia Boulanger and at Columbia University where he received an M.A. Elliott wrote numerous scores for documentary films for CBS and ABC, including Mr. Dickens of London, Hall of Kings and Rachel Carson's The Sea Around Us. He also wrote for the pioneering television series Twentieth Century and Omnibus. His many choral pieces have been published by MCA and other publishing houses. He lives in the Berkshire Hills in Massachusetts and the Florida Keys.
Few figures/images in this black-and-white publication limit its usefulness. In fact, the color choices of the stitchers are interesting: some much darker than you'd think and some much more outlandish than samplers are usually thought to be.
The cover photo is of the sampler of 13yo Polly Phippen of Salem MA made in 1783. It is because of this I may take issue with the word "Complete" in the title. great and so helpful to my understanding. this book is best suited to those that have lived under a rock their entire lives and dont know what a business plan is. Chapters provide plenty of quotes from letters and source materials in the process of providing a scholarly overview of Muir's life.. I am liberated by Dr. If you love motorcycles and motorbikes you will love this book.. A subject which could be dreary or disgusting is redeemed due to Clint's ability with the English language. Editing could have been better, but it was told well enough as a story that I pretty much auto
